This outrage has been going on for way too long and I think that in order to release some steam, I must take a few minutes to yell at people. Most of you reading this know that i am a kind gentle soul that only rebels to authority...but I seriously need to yell at people right now. So as you read this, imagine a very stern look on my face. It could be cool if you added a bitchy British accent as well..

In 2003, 30 billion gallons of bottled water were sold worldwide. That is about 17 million barrels of oil used to fulfill the needs of lazy/ignorant people.
It is estimated that more than 85% of plastic water bottles find their way to landfills rather than recycling bins (either way, recycling plastic is hypocritical, keep reading...)
Green Peace reports that plastic acts like a chemical sponge in our oceans and estimates that over a million birds, marine mammals and turtles die annually from the debris and contamination.

Buy a fucking stainless steel reusable bottle. fuck.

I hope it goes without saying that the materials used to make plastic contribute to global emissions.
Recycling cost of plastic bags: it takes 250 bags to make 1 kilo of plastic, making recycling economically unviable. Furthermore, plastic is made of recycled materials, making them difficult to be further recycled. Burning plastic results in air pollution and toxic ash.

It was suggested in the UK that banning plastic bags would be the equivalent of taking 18,000 cars off the roads each year.

Working as a cashier has really opened my eyes to how inconsiderate (news to me..) people are of the environment.
People have requested a bag when buying ONE fucking item. Got hands? Pockets? Even 3 items can be carried to your CAR (cars...next journal) .
I must say that "I forgot my reusable bags in my car, give me a plastic bag" is pretty fucking lame when you're parked in the parking lot.

How about individual plastic bags for different vegetables? Are you scared your avocado will touch your zucchini? fuck god knows what might happen with the friction of two vegetables...It doesn't even protect them from bruising you idiots.
I must say that my ultimate favorite is people who put their bananas in a plastic bag....SERIOUSLY?! wtf man. And dont tell me you're going to re-use it for lunch tomorrow, buy a fucking lunch box, there's really cool ones out there, my friend has a fantastic "Labyrinth" one. David bowie and lunch...what else do you really need at 1pm?

its takes hundreds of years for plastic to decompose and as they decompose, tiny toxic bits seep into soils, lakes, rivers, and the oceans. I'd really appreciate it if you'd stop polluting the only beauty in this world. A world that sustains YOU TOO, might I add.

Try and bring your own food to work, imagine all the dam plastic your using each day by buying packaged food.
stop bagging your fucking veggies and fruit.
buy a stainless steel water bottle.

Plastic is one of the major toxic pollutants of our time. Being a non-biodegradable substance, composed of toxic chemicals, plastic pollutes the earth, air and water.

There is no way whatsoever you can safely dispose of plastic waste.

Plastic causes serious damage to the environment both during its production and disposal. So the only way to reduce the hazards of plastic is to reduce the use of plastic and thereby force a reduction in its production.
Like in the case of all other chemical substances, disposal of plastic is a myth. Once plastic is produced, the harm is done once and for all. Plastic defies any kind of attempt at disposal be it through recycling, burning, or land filling.

When you recycle a hazard, you create a hazard. Recycling of a toxic waste merely puts the hazardous material back into the marketplace and, eventually, into the environment thereby making no reduction in toxic use.

Just stop being so dam lazy. Please.
